The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Abdul Nasir (41), a resident of Somwarpet, in connection with the 2022 murder of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru.
Abdul Nasir was arrested along with Naushad (32) of Belthangady during coordinated operations carried out by the NIA in Bengaluru and Kochi, Kerala.
According to the NIA, both accused had been absconding and were arrested following simultaneous raids conducted on the basis of specific intelligence inputs.
The agency stated that the two accused allegedly assisted the principal accused involved in the murder by providing shelter and helping them evade arrest after the crime.
Praveen Nettaru, a BJP Yuva Morcha leader, was murdered on the night of July 26, 2022. The case was subsequently taken over by the National Investigation Agency, which alleged that activists associated with the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) were involved in the conspiracy and execution of the murder.
