Kodagu district police have unearthed an illegal gambling operation being conducted at a homestay in Kadagadalu village of Madikeri taluk and arrested 28 persons. Cash amounting to over Rs. 11 lakh, along with vehicles and mobile phones, was seized during the raid.
Acting on credible information regarding gambling activities being conducted without a valid government licence, officers and personnel of the Madikeri Sub-Divisional Crime Investigation Team carried out a raid at the homestay in Kadagadalu village.
During the operation, the police arrested 28 persons, all of whom are residents of Mandya district and Bengaluru South district.
The police seized Rs. 11,08,130 in cash, five cars, one two-wheeler and 35 mobile phones from the spot.
The raid was conducted under the leadership of DySP Suraj P.A., with the participation of Madikeri Rural Circle Inspector Chandrashekhar H.V. and officers and personnel of the Madikeri Sub-Divisional Crime Investigation Team.
