Ashwini Sports Foundation/KALS Shooters Win 14 Medals at Karnataka State Shooting Championship

Bengaluru: Shooters representing Ashwini Sports Foundation (ASF) and Karaumbiah’s Academy for Learning and Sports (KALS) delivered an impressive performance at the 14th Karnataka State Meet Shooting Competition & Championship 2026, winning a total of 14 medals. The championship was held at the SAI Shooting Range, Bengaluru, from June 10 to 28 and was organised by the Karnataka State Rifle Association.

A contingent of 19 shooters from ASF/KALS participated in the state-level championship, securing nine gold, three silver and two bronze medals across various categories.

In the 10m ISSF Women Peep Sight Rifle event, the ASF/KALS Youth and Junior Women’s Team narrowly missed out on a podium finish, securing fourth place. The team comprised Kshamya Anil (623.4), Saashya Nishanth (621.4) and Akshaya Prasad K.R. (620.8).

In another notable achievement, Mayank G. qualified for the South Zone Shooting Competition after recording a score of 376/400.

In the 10m Open Sight Rifle individual events, Poojith Kaverappa Malavanda won silver medals in the Senior, Junior and Youth categories with a score of 330/400, while Mayank Muthanna secured bronze medals in the Junior and Youth categories with a score of 315/400.

ASF/KALS shooters also excelled in the team events, winning gold medals in three categories:

  • Junior Men: Saathvik Belliappa K.S., Poojith Kaverappa Malavanda and Mayank Muthanna.
  • Youth Men: Saathvik Belliappa K.S., Poojith Kaverappa Malavanda and Mayank Muthanna.
  • Sub-Youth Men: Saathvik Belliappa K.S., Nihal P.M. and Kuttappa Bollera Appaiah.

The foundation also commended the efforts of Biddappa Nanaya, Mithun Gowda, Dhruvanth Gowda, Sanvi P.R., Adhya Muthanna, Yukta Accamma, Pranavi G., Adithi Muthamma, Ranaveer and Shanika Sachin, who represented ASF/KALS at the championship.

The management of Ashwini Sports Foundation and Karaumbiah’s Academy for Learning and Sports congratulated all the shooters, coaches and parents for their dedication and contribution to the team’s outstanding performance at the state championship.
