Sainik School Kodagu Celebrates 12th International Yoga Day 2026

Sainik School Kodagu observed the 12th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation on 21 June 2026. The programme was conducted in accordance with the protocol and guidelines issued by the Department of AYUSH. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlighted the importance of adopting yoga as a way of life for maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy ageing.

The event was graced by Wg Cdr Mohammad Shaji, Officiating Principal, Sainik School Kodagu, and Officer in Command, NCC Unit, Sainik School Kodagu, as the Chief Guest. The programme witnessed active participation from the academic staff, administrative staff, NCC personnel, and cadets of the school.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by Cadet Shahid Nagavi, who emphasized the significance of yoga in promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Cadet Nishanth Narayan efficiently compered the programme and guided the proceedings throughout the event.

A major highlight of the celebration was the practical yoga session conducted by CHM/APTC Anoop Chauhan, who demonstrated various yoga asanas and breathing exercises. Participants enthusiastically performed the prescribed yoga protocol under his guidance.

The session focused on improving flexibility, strength, concentration, and overall wellness, in line with the theme of healthy ageing.

The successful conduct of the programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) of the NCC Wing and the NCC-PI Staff posted at Sainik School Kodagu, who played a pivotal role in planning and executing the event.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Cadet Krishna, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, instructors, NCC staff, faculty members, and participants for making the celebration a grand success.  N Vibin Kumar, Senior Master, all the members of staff and cadets were present on the occasion.
