Various fruit-bearing, medicinal and forest tree saplings have been raised at the HoddurVatekadu Plantation under the Madikeri Social Forestry Zone for planting during the 2026-27 monsoon season.
Saplings of species such as mahogany, violet, red sandalwood, lemon, amla, sampige, lavancha, guava, teak, honne, beete, hippe, simaruba and bamboo are available. According to the revised government order, farmer beneficiaries can obtain 8×12 size saplings at a subsidised rate of Rs. 6 each and 6×9 size saplings at Rs. 3 each.
Farmers can obtain the saplings by submitting copies of their Aadhaar card, passbook of a nationalised bank and RTC of their land.
