Dr. C. Babu, Joint Director (Research) of the Coffee Board, has assumed charge as the head of the Chettalli Coffee Sub-Research Centre.
Earlier, the centre was headed by Deputy Director Dr. Jeena Devasiya. Dr. Babu has been posted to Chettalli following his transfer from Chikkamagaluru.
He began his career as a scientist at the Coffee Research Centre in Chikkamagaluru in 2012. In 2017, he served as Senior Scientist in Wayanad, Kerala.
In 2019, he worked as Deputy Director at the Coffee Research Centre in Tamil Nadu. In 2022, he served as Head of the Department of Agronomy and in 2025 as Joint Director of the Coffee Board at Chikkaballapur.
The Coffee Board has entrusted him with the responsibility of further developing the Chettalli Coffee Sub-Research Centre.
