Prominent businessman and social worker Mathanda Suresh Chengappa passed away following a brief illness at a private hospital in Mysuru.

He is survived by his wife Damayanti and two sons.

Suresh Chengappa was well known in Madikeri for operating the B.F.P. Bakery business for more than three decades. He also rendered distinguished service through Rotary and served as a District Governor of the organisation. As President of the Madikeri Kodava Samaj, he successfully invited former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to participate in the centenary celebrations of the Kodava Samaja. Known for his cheerful disposition, friendly nature and commitment to public service, Suresh Chengappa earned the respect and goodwill of people across the district. His demise has been widely mourned.
