Minor Engagement Prevented in Kushalnagar

An incident was reported from Mullusoge village in Kushalnagar, where officials intervened to halt an engagement ceremony involving a minor.A 15-year-old girl, who had recently passed her SSLC examination, was reportedly being engaged to a groom from Periyapatna. Acting on information from local residents, Sridevi, Taluk Officer of the Women and Child Welfare Department, reached the location along with personnel from Kushalnagar Town Police Station and stopped the ceremony.

The parents were counselled, and the matter has been referred to the Child Welfare Committee for further action.
