A progress review meeting of the Ponnampet Taluk Guarantee Scheme Implementation Committee was held at the Taluk Panchayat Sampath Samudaya Bhavan under the chairmanship of Prashanth, Chairman of the committee.
Officials informed that benefits under the Grihalakshmi scheme have been disbursed to eligible beneficiaries up to January, with 95 per cent of funds already transferred.
It was noted that the taluk is expected to receive a grant of ?4 crore under the Grihalakshmi Jyoti scheme, and works under the Kriya scheme will commence upon release of funds.
The meeting also highlighted a shortage of linemen in the taluk, and officials were urged to address the issue promptly to ensure uninterrupted services.
Under the Yuvanidhi scheme, 1,728 students in the taluk are currently availing benefits.
Committee members raised concerns that funds are being credited to beneficiaries who have already secured employment, and urged corrective measures.
Officials also reported that the Shakti scheme has been effectively implemented in the taluk up to March.
Virajpet Taluk Executive Officer Appanna, committee members, and officials from various departments were present.
