Members of the Codava National Council (CNC) paid floral tributes at DevatParambu, the site associated with the Kodava massacre of December 12, 1785.

CNC President N.U. Nachappa, while paying homage to the departed ancestors, reiterated several longstanding demands. These included geo-political autonomy for Codavaland, Scheduled Tribe status for the Codava community, constitutional safeguards for Codava land, language and culture, and the establishment of a memorial at DevatParambu.

The organisation also called for recognition of the Kodava community as a distinct indigenous group, inclusion of a separate code in the 2027 national census, and legal action against distortion of Kodava history. The CNC further urged preservation and accurate representation of Kodava heritage.

Nachappa stated that the organisation would continue its peaceful struggle and called upon the Kodava community to extend support.

Several members, including Nandineravada Rekha Nachappa, Kalianda Prakash, Alamanda Jai Ganapathi and others, were present.
