In times gone by,
In war and peace,
In times to come,
And never to cease.
Time and time again,
When ‘it’ hits the fan,
The first and last resort,
Is always the military man.
Boys in uniform,
Yet men of steel,
Of these young demi Gods,
There is only pride to feel.
Selected by high standards,
Rigorous trial and test,
These volunteer aspirants,
Are among the nation’s best.
Trained to perfection,
Over many a year.
They become the weapons,
Our enemies most fear.
By defence and offence,
In perfect proportion,
They protect within and beyond,
The borders of our nation.
Unknown are their actions,
Unsung are their deeds,
Unflinching their resolve,
Unseen as they bleed.
Unaware of their sacrifices,
Unto our dreams we live,
Unjust it would be if we don’t,
Understand what they give.
Respect them for their virtue,
Rejoice in their victories,
Share their pain and sorrows,
Grieve upon their injuries.
For all they need is to know,
As they face fury and mayhem,
Is their nation is worth fighting for,
And shall always stand behind them.
We only stand safe under,
Our Saffron, White and Green,
Because of our sentinels ,
In Blue, White and Olive Green.

A fine tribute to a warrior.
On this wonderful day, while celebrating the 120th Birth Anniversary of General Thimmaiah, I sincerely salute to our Country’s Brave Warrior, Global Peace Leader, Padma Vibhushan recipient & more proudly being the ‘Great son of Kodavu Naad’ by writing a mini poem in Kannada.
Jai kodavu !
Jai Kannada Naadu!
