Deputy Commissioner S.J. Somashekar has assured that there is no shortage of domestic cooking gas in Kodagu district and that supplies will continue as per demand.

Chairing a coordination meeting, he directed LPG distributors to follow government guidelines strictly and prevent illegal practices such as hoarding or overcharging. Officials were instructed to prioritise supply to households and essential institutions, ensure FIFO distribution, and submit daily stock reports.

The district currently has over 1.9 lakh domestic LPG connections, including beneficiaries under the Ujjwala scheme.
