Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy President Ajjinikanda C. Mahesh Nachaiah said literature plays a crucial role in bringing cultural and social change within communities.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 5th Kodava Book Festival organised at the Madikeri Kodava Samaj Cultural and Welfare Centre.

He noted that growing interest in literary activities within the Kodava community is a positive development and praised initiatives aimed at encouraging reading.

Speakers also stressed the need to preserve the Kodava language, which is considered endangered, and encouraged people to read and promote Kodava literature.
