K.L. Suraj (29), originally from Virajpet and currently residing in Siddhartha Nagar in Mysuru, has secured the 525th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
This was his fourth attempt at the examination, and he improved his rank compared to the previous year. In 2024, during his third attempt, he secured the 713th rank and was selected for the Indian Police Service (IPS) in the Karnataka cadre. He is currently undergoing training in Hyderabad.
Suraj is the son of retired IRS officer K.B. Lingaraj and the younger brother of K.B. Shanthappa, KPCC General Secretary from Virajpet.
He completed his primary education at JSS School in Mysuru, his secondary education at Alike, and his PUC at Vidyavardhaka Golden Jubilee College in Mysuru. He later graduated with a degree in Computer Science Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysuru.
