Madikeri MLA Mantar Gowda performed the ground-breaking ceremony for development works in the city.

The projects include construction of a high-tech covered bus shelter near the old private bus stand and roofing facilities for auto and car stands near General Thimmaiah Circle, at a total cost of Rs. 11 lakh from the MLA’s Area Development Fund.

The MLA stated that the works were sanctioned considering the heavy rainfall in Madikeri and the hardships faced by drivers and commuters. He also announced that the bus stand would be named after the Koravanda family in recognition of their contributions to the city. Leaders of the Auto Drivers and Vehicle Owners Associations appreciated the MLA’s initiative. Several local dignitaries, association members and citizens attended the programme.
