The Second PUC Annual Examination will be held from February 28 to March 17. Deputy Commissioner S.J. Somashekhar has directed officials to ensure that the examinations are conducted smoothly, transparently and without any confusion.
He was speaking at a preparatory meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday regarding arrangements for the examination.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to strictly follow guidelines issued by the PU Examination Authority, including the appointment of invigilators, deployment of police personnel and health staff, and installation of CCTV cameras in examination halls to maintain the sanctity of the examination.
He also directed officials to arrange webcasting facilities at examination centres and provide clear information regarding students’ registration numbers and room allocations at multiple points within the centres.
Arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted power supply, availability of vehicles on examination days, and appointment of nursing staff. A 200-metre prohibitory zone will be enforced around examination centres, and xerox shops in the vicinity will remain closed on exam days.
Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya stated that all necessary preparations have been made, with departments including Pre-University Education, Revenue, Police, Treasury, Transport, CESC and Health working in coordination.
Deputy Director of Pre-University Education Vijay informed that 5,255 students will appear for the examination in the district. Of these, 4,809 are fresh candidates, 250 are private candidates and 196 are repeaters. Stream-wise, 1,054 students are from Arts, 2,603 from Commerce and 1,598 from Science.
The examination will be conducted at 18 centres across the district – 5 in Madikeri taluk, 8 in Somwarpet taluk and 5 in Virajpet taluk.
Officials from various departments, including District Treasurer Raghunath, Regional Transport Officer Satish, Tahsildars, Police Inspector Raju and college principals, were present.
