Comments:

Raah Foundation continues to extend its Regreen Nation restoration efforts. CLN is proud to associate with the organisation in reporting best practices. In this instance, sustainable livelihoods is encouraged by linking ecological restoration with skill development and income generation. The surest form of ensuring long term sustainability with support from the Forest Department and Village Administration. A good model to follow in Kodagu too.

Raah Foundation will now undertake ecological restoration across 1,824 acres within the prestigious Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, covering the villages of Kolara and Mamla. This initiative marks an important expansion of restoration efforts under Raah Foundation’s Program ReGreen Nation.

What makes this implementation distinctive is its integrated approach—alongside conservation and habitat restoration, the project will also implement sustainable livelihood programs through Raah Next Skills Foundation. This convergence model aims to strengthen community participation by linking ecological restoration with skill development and income generation, ensuring long-term sustainability of conservation outcomes.

The initiative has received strong encouragement from the Field Director, Mr.Prabhunath Shukla(IFS) , whose support reinforces the importance of collaborative landscape restoration in critical wildlife habitats with enhancement of livelihoods.

  1. This is a multi pronged approach is very essential to not only encourage regreening, but also to preserve the green regenetated forests from exploitation from unscrupulous individuals. Since the locals too are stake holders in the regreening project they themselves become the guardians later on. A nice model worthy of recreating all over India
Sarayu kamat madam at Raah Foundation is doing a great job indeed.
