The Kodagu district administration has decided to celebrate Republic Day 2026 in a meaningful and organised manner, similar to previous years. The decision was taken at a preliminary meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The ADC directed all departments to complete preparations on time and ensure effective coordination among sub-committees. The celebrations will be held either at the General Thimmaiah District Stadium or the Police Parade Ground. Cultural programmes will be organised with student participation, following proper rehearsals and training.
Departments were instructed to submit details of development programmes by January 14, award distribution by January 16, and cultural programmes by January 21. Emphasis was laid on cleanliness, avoidance of plastic and ensuring basic facilities such as drinking water and breakfast during rehearsals and the main event.
Officials from various departments, including police, education and civic bodies, attended the meeting.
