The 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Continuous Learning Programme of the Kodagu District Drug Dealers Association was held at Ahan Hills Auditorium, Kootuhole, Madikeri, under the chairmanship of Association President Ambekal Jeevan Kushalappa.
Members from various parts of the district participated in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Jeevan Kushalappa emphasized the need for drug dealers to thoroughly understand and strictly adhere to new regulations introduced by the Drug Control Department in the interest of public health.
He expressed concern over the increasing misuse of antibiotics and narcotic drugs and called upon drug dealers to take the lead in creating awareness among the public. He also advocated the implementation of a QR code-based system by the Drug Control Department to prevent the circulation of illicit drugs and urged all drug dealers to conduct their business with transparency to enhance public trust.
He further informed that the construction of the long-awaited Pharma Building of the association has been nearly completed and is scheduled to be inaugurated in January.
Association Secretary Purushottam D.I. presented the annual report, Treasurer Prasad Gowda presented the auditor’s report, and Joint Secretary Vasant proposed the vote of thanks.
Posters released by the Pharmaceutical Traders Association for public awareness were unveiled on the occasion.
