Various civic issues including traffic congestion, cleanliness, stray dogs and unauthorised homestays were discussed at the ‘Vision Madikeri – Namma Madikeri Namma Hemme – Samvad’ programme organised by the Kodagu Journalists Association.
Speakers from different sectors shared suggestions on infrastructure development, tourism regulation, sports facilities, urban planning and heritage conservation. Police officials assured action against unauthorised homestay brokers within a fortnight.
Municipal Council President P. Kalavathi, Commissioner Ramesh and several civic leaders participated.
The association also released an awareness poster outlining rules for tourists visiting Madikeri.
