Lt Gen Dr.Prof BNBM Prasad, SM, VSM, PHS was given Thoracic Endoscopy Society 2025 Life Time Achievement for his stellar contribution in the field of Pulmonology in the country at JW Marriot Mumai by Cine Star Miss Malaika Aurora on 01 November 2025.
The Contribution of Professor Prasad for the growth of Pulmonary Medicine in India are immense.Almost 3 decaded ago, he affected paradigm shift in the approach to the management of Respiratory Diseases in the country and was instrumental in introducing Interventional Pulmonology and Respiratory critical care.He established state of the art Respiratory Centres in Armed Forces and is regarded as the father of Interventional Pulmonology in Armed Forces.This was acknowledged by DGAFMSÂ Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin during ILD Update held at Prestigious Army Hospital RR New Delhi on 09 November 2025.
After superannuation from the service in 2016, he relentlessly promoted high quality Pulmonary Care and Medical Education in the country by serving as a professor of Pulmonary Medicine at prestigious AIMS Kochi, AIIMS Jodhpur and KGMU Lucknow.He was a Medical Advisor to The Yogi Govt and during the deadly pandemic, he contributed his best in the Covid Care.He was a true Covid Warrior who led by an example.
He visited 1000 bedded Covid Care centre in KGMU Lucknow, one of the largest in the country on a regular basis and took care of ctitically ill.In the bargain he saved many lives unmindful of his own personal safety.In the bargain he saved many lives.He has authored a book on Covid 19Â namely Wisdom on the Crown, highlighting his perspectives on Covid 19 Care.
He has many publications and oration awards to his credit.Recently he was a Faculty at prestigious NAPCON 2025 at Jaipur and National Allergy and Asthma Conference at Lucknow respectively.
