The Closing Ceremony of the Inter-House Annual Athletic Meet 2025 was held with great enthusiasm and discipline at Sainik School Kodagu on 13 December 2025. The event marked the successful conclusion of two days of spirited competition, showcasing the physical prowess, sportsmanship, and indomitable spirit of the cadets.

Col Amar Jeet Singh, Principal, Sainik School Kodagu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony was attended by Wg Cdr Prakash Rao, Administrative Officer, Sqn Ldr Mohammad Shaji, Vice Principal, Senior Master, Mrs Divya Singh, Mrs Shalini Rao, along with all staff members and cadets of the school.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Cadet Shreya, setting a dignified tone for the ceremony. A series of special events added vibrancy and inclusiveness to the occasion. Children’s races in the 50 metres and 100 metres categories were conducted, drawing enthusiastic participation and applause. A ladies’ event featuring the spoon and lemon race brought cheer and excitement, while a closely contested tug of war between Class XI cadets and staff members became a highlight of the day, symbolising camaraderie and team spirit.

Following the events, cadets assembled smartly for the march past in platoons, reflecting discipline, coordination, and training. The prize distribution ceremony was then held, honouring outstanding performances across categories.

In the boys’ category, Cadet Pramod of Class XI from Subroto Senior House and Cadet Lalithya of Class IX from Subroto Junior House were adjudged Best Athletes. In the girls’ category, Cadet Deepthidevi from Subroto Senior House and Cadet Kanishka of Class IX from Katari Junior House were awarded the Best Athlete titles for their exemplary performances. Based on consistent excellence across events, Subroto House was declared the Champion House and proudly lifted the Athletics Champions Trophy 2025.

After the march past, Col Amar Jeet Singh addressed the cadets and staff, appreciating the high standards of sportsmanship, discipline, and commitment displayed throughout the meet. Emphasising that sports play a vital role in character building, leadership development, and physical resilience, he lauded the efforts of organisers, officials, and participants, while highlighting that safety and fair play remained paramount throughout the competitions.

As a symbolic gesture marking the conclusion of the Athletic Meet, the National Flag was formally handed over to the Principal. With this solemn ceremony, Col Amar Jeet Singh declared the Inter-House Annual Athletic Meet 2025 officially closed. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Cadet Mayuka, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the grand success of the meet.
