Chenanda Hockey Tournament Logo Released by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah released the logo of the Chenanda Hockey Tournament at his official residence, Krishna, in the presence of  Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor and Virajpet MLA Ajjikuttira S. Ponnanna. The Chief Minister said that “Kodavas mean hockey, and hockey means Kodavas,” and announced a grant of one crore rupees for the Chenanda Hockey Tournament.

He appreciated the Kodava hockey players who have excelled at the international level, bringing fame to the country, including in the Asian Games. He said that Kodava culture has preserved and promoted its unique identity, which is a matter of pride. The government will provide a grant of one crore rupees for the tournament to be held in May 2026, and he assured that he would attend the event.

Kodagu District In-charge Minister N. S. Bhosaraju, Urban Development Minister Bairati Suresh, Backward Classes Minister Shivaraj Tangadgi, members of the Chenanda family, and prominent leaders of the Kodava community were present.

President Kambani Karumbayya, Executive President Deena Chengappa, Secretary Madhu Madaiya, Joint Secretary Tammi Tammayya, Suresh Nanaiya, Jimmy Achaiah, Shyamala Chengappa, Babitha Ayyappa, Rohan Ponnaiya, Sachin Ayyappa, Namrutha Ayyanna, and other prominent members attended the event.
