Karnataka’s top-ranked badminton player, B. Diya Bheemaiah, clinched the bronze medal in the doubles category at the All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held in Madurai from October 22 to 29.

Diya partnered with Baruni Paraswal of Haryana and put up a spirited performance throughout the championship. The duo narrowly missed a spot in the finals after a hard-fought semifinal match against Ananya A and Anjana Manikandan of Andhra Pradesh, losing 14-21, 21-18, 23-25 in a thrilling three-set encounter.

A promising young athlete from Karnataka, Diya is currently pursuing her II PUC at Vidhyaashram College, Mysuru. Her consistent performances have made her one of the most promising junior players in the state’s badminton circuit.
