The students of the Coorg Public School and Pre-University College actively participated in the Swachh Kodagu – Sundara Kodagu initiative, aligning themselves with the district-wide mission to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness.

NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, UN Volunteers and Eco Club members came together in this collective effort. Addressing the gathering of volunteers and staff, Principal Dr. M. Ramachandran emphasized the significance of October 15th – the birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam – which is celebrated worldwide as World Students’ Day.

Around 300 students from COPS enthusiastically participated in the ‘Clean Kodagu – Beautiful Kodagu’ mission. As a part of the effort, the volunteers managed to collect two full truckloads of garbage, significantly contributing to the cleanliness of the area.

Dr. Ramachandran highlighted that such cleanliness drives are an integral part of COPS – Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) activities, which aim to instill a sense of responsibility and community service among students.
