Karnataka Forestry Students and Graduates Association protests in Gonikoppa

The Karnataka Forestry Students and Graduates Association staged a protest in Gonikoppa, demanding fulfillment of various demands, including direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant Conservator of Forests, Zonal Forest Officer, and Sub-Zonal Forest Officer.

Led by Association President Akshay Kumar, the students marched from Ponnampet Forest College to the Gonikoppa bus stand, where they held a protest and displayed mock-up posters expressing their dissatisfaction.

Later, they staged a dharna in front of the Ponnampet Taluk Tahsildar’s office and submitted a memorandum to the government through the Tahsildar.

They urged the government to constructively utilize the expertise of forestry graduates by directly recruiting them to the post of Sub-Zonal Forest Officer.

The protesters demanded justice for B.Sc. (Forestry) graduates in recruitment to the posts of Assistant Conservator of Forests, Zonal Forest Officer, and Sub-Zonal Forest Officer, emphasizing the need to safeguard their career prospects and future. Association Vice President Sudeep Siri Gowda, Secretary Ankit Devaraya, Treasurer M. Yashassu, Joint Secretaries S.M. Raghavendra and Kishan Gowda, A.G. Vikas, Conveners Anusha and Akash Poojary, and D.M. Manjunath participated in the protest.
