Anoop Madappa, Circle Inspector of Virajpet Police Station, speaking at an awareness program organized by the Kodagu District Police Department, Virajpet Police Station, in association with the IQAC, NSS, and Youth Red Cross unit of St. Ann’s Degree College, Virajpet, emphasized that building a crime-free society is the duty of every citizen. He urged everyone to abide by the law and commit themselves to creating a safe and just society.
Addressing students at the college hall, he delivered a lecture on traffic rules, the effects of drug use, and relevant laws. Explaining traffic rules and road safety with practical examples, he stressed that students should strictly follow traffic regulations. He highlighted the importance of carrying relevant documents while driving.
Speaking further, he stated that drug use destroys lives and cautioned students against becoming enslaved by addiction. He encouraged them to develop strong personalities and emphasized the importance of respecting and following the law to prevent crime.

The Circle Inspector also screened a documentary film to explain traffic rules, the dangers of drug abuse, and the punishments under law, thereby creating awareness among students.
Pramod, Station Officer of Virajpet Town Police Station, speaking on the occasion, said that everyone should obey the law and develop a good personality from a young age. He stressed that legal knowledge should be imparted to society and that preventive measures must be taken to reduce criminal cases. He advised students to strive for good education, secure respectable employment, and bring pride to their families and institutions. He also urged students to cooperate with the police in crime prevention.
College Principal Trupti Bopanna, who presided over the program, said that awareness of the law is essential for students and that knowledge of the Constitution is important. She emphasized that with proper knowledge of the law, crimes can be prevented.
The awareness program, organized by the Virajpet Police Department, was effective in educating students. They were encouraged to share what they learned with others to spread awareness further.
Present on the stage were Virajpet Rural Police Station Officer Latha, College IQAC Coordinator Hema, NSS Officer B.N. Shantibhushan, Youth Red Cross Unit Officer Vileena Gonsalves, college students and lecturers, and staff of the Police Department.
Kannada Professor Pratima Rai welcomed the gathering, NSS Officer Shantibhushan narrated the programme, and Lecturer Vileena proposed the vote of thanks.
