Session Enhances Financial Literacy Among Students

Coorg Pre-University College  recently conducted a session for the students to create awareness about the recently revised GST charges and their impact. The resource person  M.M.Thimmaiah explained the basics of Goods and Services Tax (GST), its importance in the Indian economy, and the reasons behind the recent changes.

The session highlighted the revised tax slabs, categories of goods and services affected, and how these changes influence both consumers and businesses. Real-life examples were shared to help students understand the practical implications of GST in daily transactions.

Students actively participated by raising questions about the effect of GST on various concepts. The speaker clarified doubts and encouraged students to stay informed about financial policies as responsible citizens.

The session was moderated by the Principal, Dr. M. Ramachandran. Accamma J. J., Head of the Commerce Department, extended a warm welcome to the gathering,
while Pavithra K. C. rendered  the Vote of Thanks.

The session was highly informative, enhancing the students’ knowledge of taxation and its role in shaping the economy.
