Strong opposition has emerged against the proposed construction of a ‘Glass Bridge’ at Rajaseat, one of Madikeri’s most scenic and eco-sensitive tourist destinations. Raising the issue, Kodagu District Homestay Association President Monti Ganesh expressed concerns that infrastructure such as glass bridges in fragile hilly terrains could increase the risk of environmental disasters. She added that the BJP has already registered its objection to the project, citing potential ecological harm.

Responding to the concerns, Member of Parliament Yaduveer Krishnadatta Wodeyar clarified that he supports efforts to preserve Rajaseat’s ecological integrity and maintain its natural beauty. While acknowledging the development debate, the MP emphasized that he does not support the construction of a glass bridge at the site.
