A unique Mud Run Sports Meet was organized in collaboration with the Kodagu District Working Journalists Association and the Kodagu Press Club at Mallana Belyappa’s paddy field near Talat House, Madikeri. Journalists from across the district enthusiastically participated in events such as handball, rope scramble, and the mud run.
Six teams competed in the various categories. The winners were:
Handball: First Place: Naughty Boys, Second Place: Mud Fielders.
Rope Scramble: First Place: Mud Fighters, Second Place: Naughty Boys, Women’s Mud Run: First Place: Vatsala S.R. Second Place: B.R. Savita Rai.
Men’s 40+ Category: First Place: Gopal Somaiah, Second Place: Ajjamada Ramesh Kuttappa, Third Place: Partha Chinnappa.
Junior Category: First Place: Ismail, Second Place: Diwakar Jackie, Third Place: Naveen D’Souza
The prize distribution ceremony was chaired by B.R. Savita Rai, President of the Kodagu District Working Journalists Association. Other dignitaries present included Bollajira B.Ayyappa, President of the Kodagu Press Club, Vice President of the State Working Journalists Association, Ajjamada Ramesh Kuttappa, Sports Coordinator Suvarna Manju, and field owner Mallana Anand.
Ramesh Hebbatageri, Physical Education Director of Field Marshal Cariappa College, and Deena, Physical Education Teacher from Kodagu Vidyalaya, served as judges for the event.
Prathana Rai led the prayer, while Naveen D’Souza, Senior Vice President of the Press Club, welcomed the participants. General Secretary BacharaniyaAnukaryappa compered the program, and Vishchakumbhur delivered the vote of thanks.
