MLA A.S. Ponnanna inaugurated various road and bridge projects worth Rs 50 lakh in Virajpet taluk. Key projects include: Kondageri: Rs 15 lakh road project, Halugunda: Rs 15 lakh bridge construction, Devanageri (Chembebellur GP): Rs 10 lakh road and Chamiyala (Kadanur GP): Rs 10 lakh road.

The MLA announced that additional funds have been sanctioned for rural roads, basic infrastructure, and electrification projects, and assured timely repairs to potholed roads damaged by rains.

Later, the MLA participated in a Vanamahotsavaprogramme at Kunjalageri, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection and tree planting. He urged the public to make afforestation a community responsibility, noting that forest conservation is key to sustaining water resources and ecological balance.
