A fever survey and health awareness campaign was conducted in Bettageri village to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as dengue. District Entomologist Manjunath informed residents that keeping the surroundings clean is crucial in preventing the breeding of mosquitoes and other disease vectors. He advised people to consult a doctor at the nearest hospital in case of fever symptoms.
Madikeri Taluk Senior Health Inspector G.V. Srinath highlighted the significance of maintaining hygiene during the Anti-Dengue Month. He stressed the importance of preventing water stagnation both inside and outside the house to curb mosquito breeding. He recommended weekly cleaning of water storage areas, proper covering of water containers, and the use of mosquito repellents and nets.
Srinath emphasized that cleanliness is not just about preventing dengue but also protects against other infectious diseases. The Health Department is actively carrying out door-to-door larva eradication drives to prevent diseases like dengue and rat fever. The event saw the participation of District Epidemiologist Dr. Kishore, ASHA workers, and school teachers, who collectively worked to raise awareness and ensure public cooperation.
