Dear Sir,
I am writing this after the very tragic Air India plane crash.
In 2000 the BHARATIYA viidyabhvan selected me to attend the MILLENNIUM WORLD PEACE SUMMIT OF RELIGIOUS and SPIRITUAL LEADERS of the world organised by the United Nations.
A special Air India Plane was chartered to take the delegates from New Delhi. Dr. Karan Singh was the leader of the Indian delegation. In the Indian delegation there were 108 monks which included, Dr.Ravi Shanker, Jaggi Vasudeva, Matha Amritha Mai and many others. As the first Indian monk who went to America was Swami Vivekananda in 1893 ,and as this SUMMIT was taking place after 108 years the Indian delegation had 108 monks.
As the plane took off all the monks as advised recited the ” Mrityunjaya mantra ” with beautiful Intonation.
When the Pilot inquired the leader as to why they did it he replied that,” When we recite thi Holy mantra it creates a Divine vibration which not only protects all the passengers but also the plane from any untoward incident or any accidents.
The same procedure was followed When the plane took off from Heathrow airport London
This experience makes me to say that if two or three passengers of this plane had mentally recited the Mrityunjaya mantra, may be the Unseen hand of God would have procted this plane from this accident.
The Mrityunjaya mantra is as under ” Om triyambakam Yajamae Sugandim pustivardan oorvarukamiva bhandan mrityoor mokseea mammrithath”
The Mrityunjaya Mantra, also known as the Rudra Mantra or the Tryambakam Mantra, is an ancient Sanskrit mantra from the Rigveda. Here’s its meaning:
## Mantra:
“Om Tryambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Mukshiya Mamritat”
## Translation:
“Om, We worship the three-eyed Lord Shiva,
Who is fragrant and nourishing,
Like a cucumber from its stem,
May we be liberated from death and attain immortality.”
## Significance:
This mantra is believed to:
- Promote spiritual growth and self-realization
- Grant protection from harm and negative energies
- Bestow longevity and good health
- Help overcome fears and anxieties
The Mrityunjaya Mantra is often recited for spiritual growth, healing, and protection.
