Two youths Ayyappa (18) from Cherambane and Girish (16) from Aivatthoklu who had gone for bath in river in Cauveri with friends were drowned.
The incident occurred at Kuruli Kadiyathur doni Kadvu near Emmemadu. It is reported that the boat in which they were travelling in the river was capsized since both of them are not knowing swiming were drowned . The body of Girish was recovered from the river during early search operation and search for Ayyappa body was postponed due to adverse weather conditions and later Napoklu police, fire brigade and villagers have succeeded in finding the body of the deceased youth Ayyappa around 20-foot depth of the Cauvery River where the accident occurred.
