SAINIK SCHOOL KODAGU HOSTS CROSS COUNTRY RACE 2024-25

The much-anticipated Cross Country Race 2024-25 was successfully conducted at Sainik School Kodagu on 05 Apr 2025, witnessing enthusiastic participation from cadets across various categories. The event was flagged off by the Chief Guest, Col Amarjeet Singh,  The  Principal, Sainik School Kodagu.

The event was further graced by the presence of Wg Cdr Prakash Rao, The Administrative Officer, and Sqn Ldr Mohammad Shahi, The Vice Principal, who jointly flagged off participants in their respective categories.

The race comprised five categories, tailored to different class groups:

  • Group A: Class XI cadets covered a distance of 9 km.
  • Group B: Class IX and X cadets ran a 7 km stretch.
  • Group C: Class VII, VIII, and girl cadets of Class IX, X & XI participated, running 5 km.
  • Group D: Class VI cadets covered 3.5 km.
  • Group E: Girl cadets of Classes VI to VIII also ran 3.5 km.

All houses, including Menon, Katari, Cariappa, Subroto, Rani Chennamma, and Division I and II of Cauvery House, exhibited outstanding team spirit and sportsmanship throughout the event.

In a spectacular performance, Subroto House emerged as the overall champion with total house points of 720. A special highlight of the event was Cadet Vijay M H of Menon Senior House who was abjudged as the best runner and received individual prize for the feat.

Categorywise individual prizes were handed over by The Chief Guest, Col Amarjeet Singh, The Principal, Sainik School Kodagu, Wg Cdr Prakash Rao, The Administrative Officer, Sqn Ldr Mohammad Shaji, The Vice Principal, Dr Chinmay, SMO, Sainik School Kodagu and Mr N Vibin Kumar, The Senior Master. Following the thrilling competition among the houses for the championship, the Principal, Col Amarjeet Singh, presented the hard won ‘Championship Trophy’ to Subroto House.

The success of the Cross Country Race 2024-25 was made possible by the dedicated efforts of all academic, administrative, NCC, PI staff, and General Employees, whose contributions ensured the seamless execution of the event.
