  1. Showed this message to my Mother and her initial reaction was – “Note, kaddi thadi… adange fit aayth ee vayaskoo nere nippokaiyuvo”

Her wise assessment was also that this lady has lived life with all its ups and downs; her experiences have given her hardened strength to live this long and also to come out and support the family team. In more than one manner this epitomizes the strong bonds to one’s Okka – the pride of belonging to the family means everything! A true demonstration of the Kodava way of life.

  2. Amazing lady at 94.
Tremendous carriage and hope she will be a huge inspiration for her family. The family should capitalise.
I saw her dancing too in one of the videos. Great.

  3. Sport is a phenomenal “leveller”. The “best” player is as good as the TEAM! When women are part of the TEAM and play the game by the same rules, then everyone wins. Extend this concept to life and from the look of it Juby Dechavva certainly appears to follow the approach I have enunciated. More power to Hockey and everything associated with Kodavaame.

  4. Standing tall and strong at this age and holding a hockey stick the way it should be held. Wonderful inspiration for the younger generations. May you hit a century

  5. The CoffeeLand News is an excellent initiative in capturing such poignant moments. This platform should be used as the Voice of the Kodava community.

  6. This photo says it all — the true sporting spirit of the Kodavas, especially when it’s hockey! Age is just a number when you have this kind of passion. An inspiration for generations to come.

And just look at the pride in this family photo — almost half the team are girls!

  7. An inspiration for generations to come, age is indeed only a number. Spirits live forever.🥂🏑

  8. The Kodavas and the Sikhs have lots of similarities. Very brave soldiers, hard working farmers/planters, outstanding sports personalities and overall very kindhearted. I understand it is called Kodavamme 🙏

  9. Looks a total Pro – salute the Avvaya 🫡
It’s feels like she will teach the youngsters the finer points of the game👍🏼👏
