Koodakandi Omshree Dayananda was recently awarded Kodagina Gowramma award which was given by the Kodagu District Kannada Sahitya Parishad (KSP).
Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Kodagu district president of MP Keshav Kamath, said in a press release that this most prestigious award of KSP hasbeen given to her for the story collection “Putani Rail – A beautiful journey in the world of beautiful stories”. The award was judged by three eminent senior writers of the district. This endowment award has been established to honour best women writer of the district by Gowramma’s son BG Vasanth.
So far 20 women writers have been given this award informed president of MP Keshav Kamath. This year 15 women writers had submitted their works for the award Kamath added.
