Police have arrested two persons identified as Anudeep (36) from Kushalnagar and Amruth (45) from Garvale for posting derogatory content on social media in connection with the temple dispute in Kattemadu village.

The police said the accused posted messages on December 31, inciting hatred and jealousy between two communities and disrupting public peace. Three cases have been registered, the police said.

The court has remanded the accused in judicial custody until January 14.

The police further warned of strict legal action against individuals spreading defamatory messages against any community, disseminating false news with the intent to disturb communal harmony and creating panic.
