Derogatory post on FM K.M Cariappa and Gen Thimayya: Advocate Vidyadhar Arrested

An advocate identified as K.R. Vidyadhar (66) has been arrested by Kodagu Police in connection with the derogatory Whatsapp message posted against Field Marshal K M Cariappa and General KS Thimayya.

The arrested is a resident of Haletti village in Sullia taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. Kodagu Superintendent of Police (SP) K Ramarajan said that a case was registered at the Suntikoppa police station following a complaint regarding derogatory remarks against Field Marshal KM Cariappa and General K S Thimayya. 

The derogatory comments were allegedly posted by Vidyadhar on a WhatsApp group called ‘Saptasagara (Kadalu)’ under a fake name “Srivatsa Bhat”. The Madikeri Bar Association has suspended the advocate for 6 months. Vidyadhar has secured conditional bail in the case from the court.
