Rupees one and a half crore rupees have been released for the historic Madikeri Dasara festival, 75 lakh rupees have been released for the Gonikoppal Dasara festival. While Madikeri got fifty lakh rupees more than last time, additional money of Rs 25 lakh has been released for Gonikoppal Dasara festival this time. Additional grants have been released this time due to the efforts of Kodagu district in-charge minister and two MLAs.

This time the Madikeri Dasara festival is being held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner. Residents of Madikeri opined that this time the accounts will be transparent. In the last year’s accounts presentation meeting held a month ago, the meeting was adjourned without the audit report. Last year’s accounts have not been made public yet. But this time, since the district administration is responsible for this, everyone is hopeful that all the accounts will be produced.  Both in Madikeri and Gonikoppal dasara festival residents thought that more opportunities will be given to local artists than last time.
