Virajpet…dilapidated building demolished by authorities

As a precautionary measure the authorities concerned demolished the dilapidated buildings on the Main Road in Virajpet town recently.  The buildings belonged to private persons in Jainara Beedhi were bulldozed using earth movers. The move by the local authority comes after an old and dilapidated building collapsed in Gonikoppa recently. Following this, the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) had issued a notice to clear old and dilapidated buildings. Tahsildar Ramachandra, TMC member P Ranji Poonacha, revenue inspectors Harish were present, along with officials and personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services department.
