Sainik School Kodagu had the honour of hosting a distinguished guest, Lt Gen Navneet Singh Sarna, AVSM, SM, VSM, Director General of Recruiting, Integrated Head Quarters, Ministry of Defence (Army), New Delhi recently for an enlightening and motivational interaction with the cadets. The event was marked by insightful thoughts and guidance from the esteemed chief guest.

On his arrival, Lt Gen Navneet Singh Sarna offered his tributes to the war heroes by laying wreath at the Wall of Heroes. A special assembly was organised in honour of the officer. Cadet Samarth N, and CdtArzaque set the tone for the day’s proceedings at KMP Hall with their role as the Master of Ceremony. CdtSharanabasu, the School Adjutant introduced the chief guest, shedding light on Lt Gen Navneet Singh Sarna’s professional achievements and remarkable journey from his early training days to becoming the Director General of Recruiting, Integrated Head Quarters, Ministry of Defense (Army), New Delhi. 

In his engaging address, Lt Gen Navneet Sigh Sarna shared his experiences and insights about choosing a career in the Indian armed forces. The officer encouraged the cadets to pursue their aspirations fervently, and he provided valuable guidance on preparing for the UPSC NDA and other entries to various defense training academies. The officer guided the cadets about various wings of Indian defense forces, rank structure, and an unending string of adventure activities being offered by the Indian armed forces. 

The officer encouraged the cadets to take up a career in defense forces and understand the critical requirements for becoming a committed Defense Officer in Indian Armed Forces. He highlighted the importance of a positive attitude, hard work, determination, open-mindedness, and teamwork in achieving success in such competitive endeavours. 

WgCdr P Prakash Rao, the Administrative Officer,  Sqn Ldr Mohammad Shaji, Vice Principal, senior master, faculty members, members of administrative section, NCC and PI staff were present on the occasion.
