“Talmera Tavare’, third work of writer Vani released

Writer Cheerammana Vani Changuvammayya’s third work “Talmera Tavare’- – was released in Madikeri recently.

Vani could not attend school being differently-abled since birth. She learnt from home and made a mark as a writer through her stories, poems and limericks.

The work was published by Kodava MakkadaKoota. It has 201 poems dealing with Cauvery mathe, plants, nature, animals, birds, language, happiness, sadness, parents and so on.

Speaking after releasing the work, senior writer Bachamanda Gowramma Madammayya said the writer has contributed to the literary world by learning at home. 

Vani lamented over decline in the reading habits in the present world. “People should read and added that more writers will come up if more books are read.

Writer P S Vailesh said that there was a time when there were no writers in Kodagu and added that now, it is the golden era of Kodagu literature. There is a need to identify the achievers. There is a need to identify and support writers. Kodava Makkada Koota President Bollajira B Ayyappa said, “The Koota has been supporting young writers. Already, it has published 91 works in Kodava, Kannada, English and Hindi languages.”
