Comments:

Despite the deadline from the transport department, many vehicle owners have not installed the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP). Now the department is set to impose a fine of Rs. 1,000 for the first time and Rs. 2,000 for the second time. HSRP plate is mandatory for vehicles registered before April 1, 2019. Earlier, the deadline was set for November 17. But due to lack of interest from vehicle owners, it has been extended till February 17. Currently only 10 lakh vehicle owners have installed HSRP plates. Still 1.70 crore vehicles in the state are yet to get HSRP plates. So, now the transport department and Police will jointly check the vehicles from Feb. 17th
