Forest Minister Shri EshwarKhandre and Legal Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and MLA from Virajpet constituency Shri Ajjikuttira S. Ponnanna visited the protest site of the Karnataka Forestry Students and Graduates Association and assured the students that their petition would be accepted and their demands examined.

At Freedom Park in Bengaluru, students of the Ponnampet Forest College submitted a memorandum seeking to make the B.Sc. Forestry degree the minimum educational qualification for direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant Conservator of Forests, Zonal Conservator of Forests, and Sub-Zonal Forest Officers.
After receiving the petition, Minister Khandre and MLA Ponnanna assured the students that the government would give serious consideration to their request.

“The recruitment process was initiated after our government assumed office. You all have a bright future, and we will examine your demands carefully,” they said, urging the students to call off their strike.
Senior officials of the Forest Department were present during the visit.
