BJP leader and former Madikeri MLA P. Appachu Ranjan stated that RDPR and IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge should focus on the development of his home district, Kalaburagi, instead of contemplating action against the patriotic organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
“Kalaburagi ranks last in SSLC and second PUC results. It appears that Priyank Kharge fears that providing quality education may threaten his political position,” Ranjan said while addressing a press conference in Madikeri on Monday.
“The condition of roads in Kalaburagi district is deplorable. Instead of worrying about organisations like the RSS, he should concentrate on the development of his district and focus on making his father, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, the Chief Minister,” he advised.
Ranjan described the RSS as a patriotic organisation, stating that the state government was attempting to impose restrictions on it simply because it could not tolerate the organisation’s growth and influence.
“If such a ban is imposed, the people of the country will strongly oppose it. RSS is not an organisation confined to any one community-anyone can be a part of it. It even has a wing called the Muslim Rashtriya Manch. Therefore, it is wrong for the government to consider restricting the activities of such an organisation,” he added.
