The Avinyam Students’ Union of the AIML Department of Ponnampet CIT College celebrated Shaurya Divas in honour of the birth anniversary of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra.

The program, held in the college auditorium, was inaugurated by Colonel Amarjeet Singh, Principal of Kodagu Sainik School, with floral tributes to the war memorial. In his address, he spoke about the role of technology in the defence sector and the importance of discipline and leadership. He also informed students about opportunities and benefits available for those joining the armed forces after engineering.
Prof. A.G. Thimmaiah, In-charge Principal of CIT College and Head of the Mechanical Department, highlighted the importance of such programs in instilling patriotism among students.

Dr. M.C. Cariappa, President of Kodava Education Society, speaking on the occasion, encouraged students to serve the nation by joining the armed forces and emphasized the necessity of adopting technology in the defence sector.
Heads of departments, faculty members, and students were present.
Dr. B.B. Ramakrishna, Head of the AIML Department, welcomed the gathering. Students Neelam Thimmaiah and Vennela conducted the proceedings, and Dixit, a fifth-semester student, delivered the vote of thanks.

A patriotic song and dance performance by the students was the highlight of the program and attracted everyone’s attention. The event concluded with the national anthem.
