A large protest was held in front of the Taluk office with hundreds of villagers from ShanthalliHobli demanding the immediate dismissal of a nurse at Somwarpet Taluk Hospital.
Protesters alleged that the nurse’s family had encroached upon land belonging to Kumaralingeshwara Educational Institution. They further accused the family of filing false complaints with the police when questioned and claimed that the nurse had issued threats of causing harm to villagers if they sought treatment at the hospital.
The protesters urged the District Health Officer to take immediate action. Taluk Tahsildar Krishnamurthy attempted to pacify the demonstrators.
