Independence Day 2025 Celebrations at Sainik School Kodagu

Sainik School Kodagu celebrated the 79th Independence  Day of India with great patriotic fervour and grandeur at the General Thimayya Parade Ground.The celebrations began with a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony in honour of the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. The ceremony was led by Col Amar Jeet Singh, Principal, Sainik School Kodagu, Wg Cdr P. Paraksh Rao, Administrative Officer and Sqn Ldr Mohammad Shaji, Vice Principal, Sainik School Kodagu.

Following this, the Principal and the Chief Guest of the day Col Amar Jeet Singh hoisted the tricolour, inspected the ceremonial parade, which was succeeded by a spectacular march past by the cadets, showcasing precision, discipline, and pride. As per tradition, the Cadets’ Endowment Awards for the academic year 2024-25 were presented by the chief guest to cadets excelling in various fields:

Best Outgoing Cadet – Cdt Sharanabasu Dastaraddi, Best in Academics – Cdt Yashas S Nayak,  Best in Sports – Cdt Aftab, Best in Cross Country – Cdt Prajwal M K, Best in Science Exhibition – Cdt Lakshya Kumar Singh, Best in Literary Competitions – Cdt Aditya Kumar Singh and Best Talented Kid 2024-25 – Cdt Dhanwin M (Class VII)

Academic excellence was further acknowledged with honours to cadets who secured centum marks in the Board Examinations 2024-25, along with appreciation to the teachers who mentored them. Cdt Deepti Basappa Ullegaddi was specially recognised for securing the highest score in the Class X Board Examinations 2024-25.

The Principal also commended staff members for their dedicated service: Khadar Mohideen C M – Chemistry Lab Assistant, Sigidi Ramachandra Rao – LDC, Sharath C R – General Employee In addition, Ajay C and  Arun Kumar received tokens of appreciation for their exceptional service to the horse stable and training activities at the stable. The Menon House contingent was adjudged Best Contingent for their immaculate drill movements.

Col Amar Jeet Singh, Principal and Chief Guest of the day addressed the gathering of staff and cadets. In his speech, he highlighted the values of discipline, dedication, and patriotism, urging cadets to uphold the ethos of the school and serve the nation with honour. The ceremony continued with the singing of the National Anthem.

The event concluded with the distribution of sweets to general employees and a special dinner for all cadets and staff, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and celebration. Mrs Divya Singh, The first lady of the campus, all academic, administrative, NCC PI staff, Staff families and Cadets were present on the occasion.
