Indian Army Recruitment: Engineering Graduates invited to apply for SSC 66th Technical Entry

The Indian Army has released the official notification for the 66th SSC(Short Service Commission) I (Technical) Course for Men and Women, scheduled to commence in April 2026 at Officer Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. This entry provides a direct path for engineering graduates (BE/B.Tech) to become technical officers in the Army.

Categories Eligible to Apply:

    • Unmarried male and female engineering graduates, including those in their final year (subject to degree completion by 1 April 2026 and submission of all required documents).

    • Widows of Defence personnel are also eligible for a few specific posts in both technical and non-technical categories.

Age Limits (as of 1 April 2026):

SSC (Tech) Men & SSCW (Tech) Women: 20 to 27 years old (Birth dates roughly between 1 April 1999 and 31 March 2006).

Stipend & Pay:

  • During training, candidates receive a stipend  of ₹56,000/month.

  • Post-commissioning, they receive pay as per government rules for commissioned officers (e.g., Lieutenant pay scales) and allowances.
